Steffen Baermann

Steffen writes science fiction with a sharp eye for power, systems, and what happens when they break. A genre enthusiast since age eight, he combines storytelling with decades of experience in high-level sales leadership.

For over 35 years, he worked with global brands like Dell, Cisco, and Milka—leading complex sales operations, driving digital transformation, and pioneering the use of platforms like Salesforce long before they were mainstream. He understands how corporate logic works. And how it fails.

Alongside his business career, Steffen has always stayed close to the creative, the unconventional, and the underground. He organized circuit parties before the term existed, worked as a VJ at large-scale events, directed several indie films, and for several years ran one of the biggest after-hour clubs in Germany’s Ruhr region.

This part of his life exposed him to alternative communities, queer subcultures, and the fragile energy of places that exist between collapse and resistance. These perspectives shape the tone, atmosphere, and emotional depth of DooM 2086.

The idea for the novel was born in 2017. Since then, it has grown into a cinematic, character-driven science fiction drama — exploring political breakdown, identity, and the question of what remains when control systems fail.

Steffen’s dual path isn’t accidental — it shapes his approach to everything he does.

While DooM 2086 explores collapse, identity, and survival through a cinematic sci-fi lens, his nonfiction work focuses on clarity, structure, and strategic thinking in the real world.

He teaches sales leadership, writes about organizational transformation, and is currently developing a new handbook on modern sales management.

A particular focus lies in artificial intelligence — especially its practical use in marketing and sales. He has published multiple trainings and workshops to help companies move from AI theory to real-world application.

Two worlds. One voice.
